The link from your agency. It works for 24 hours, and only for one recording.
Your phone, in any browser. A computer with a microphone also works. You do not need an app or an OnlyX account.
A quiet room, and about a minute.
Your normal speaking voice. Follow the small hint on each line, but do not read in a flat voice to get it over with. A flat reading makes a voice that sounds like a robot.
On your phone, open the link from your agency.The page shows your name and Record your voice. It lists seven numbered lines to read.

Pick your language
Under Language, check the language you will read in. To change it, tap the list, and pick your language. The lines change to that language.Pick the language before you start. You cannot change it while you record.

Start recording
Tap Start recording. Allow the microphone when your phone asks.A red dot and a timer show, and the button changes to Stop.

Read all seven lines
Read every line out loud in one go, from 1 to 7. Line 1 is your consent: say it exactly as written. Then follow the hint on each line, for example “Laugh first, then say it”.

Stop recording
Tap Stop. If you forget, the recording stops by itself after 3 minutes.

Listen to your recording
Play the recording. If you are not happy with it, tap Record again. Nothing is sent until you tap Send.

Send it
Tap Send, and wait on the page. When it says All done — thank you!, you can close the page.
Your recording is with your agency. You can close the page.
Once OnlyX takes your recording, the link is used up. To record again after that, ask your agency for a new link.
Line 1 is your consent, and you say it in your own voice. It is not a box to tick. In English, it says: “I’m recording this for OnlyX. I agree to an AI copy of my voice being created and used on my own account.”
OnlyX keeps a record of your consent: the sentence you read, its language and the date.
The page says: “only you will ever record this”. Nobody else records your voice on this link.
A new voice starts paused. Your agency can listen to it first. Then they turn on voice notes.
If you record again later, the new recording replaces your old voice completely.
You can record the lines in another app, and upload the file instead.

Record a voice memo
Open the voice memo app on your phone. Record yourself reading all seven lines from the page, in one go.Keep the recording between 10 seconds and 3 minutes long.

Upload the file
On an iPhone, first save the memo to the Files app. In Voice Memos, share the recording, and save it to Files.Then, on the page, tap or upload a voice memo, and pick the file. The player and the Send button appear, as after a recording on the page.
The page says "We could not reach your microphone"
You did not allow the microphone, or this browser cannot use it. Allow microphone access, and tap Start recording again. You can also record a voice memo and upload it, as in If your phone will not record.
The page says "That is 0:08 — read the whole script, at least 10 seconds."
The recording is too short, so Send stays greyed out. Tap Record again, and read all seven lines.
The page says "That recording is too long. Keep it under three minutes."
Record again, and read the lines without long pauses. A voice memo must also be under 3 minutes. Your link still works.
The page says "That did not go through. Please try again."
OnlyX could not take your recording at that moment. Your recording is still on the page. Wait a moment, and tap Send again. If you uploaded a voice memo and it keeps failing, record it again under 3 minutes.
The page says "We could not read that recording"
Your phone could not read the recording, or your connection dropped while the page sent it. Check your internet connection, and tap Send again. If the message comes back, tap Record again, and record on this page.
The lines are in English, but I want another language
Tap the list under Language, and pick your language. If your language says “no script”, the page has no lines in it yet. Read the English lines, or pick another language that you speak.
The page says "We could not use that recording"
OnlyX could not make a voice from this recording, and the link is now used up. Ask your agency to send you a new link.
The page says "Your voice has already been recorded"
This link was used for a recording already. There is nothing left to do. If your agency wants a new recording, they send you a new link.
The page says "This link has expired" or "This link was cancelled"
Links work for 24 hours, and your agency can cancel a link. Ask your agency for a new one.
The page says "This link is not valid"
The page shows this message also when the connection drops while it opens. Reload the page once. If it still says so, ask your agency for a new link.
I left the page before I tapped Send
Nothing was sent, and your recording was not saved. Open your link again, and record from the start.
