# Edit a Telegram creator's profile

> Change the name, @username, bio and photo that fans see on her Telegram account, and the name your team sees in OnlyX.

From OnlyX, you can change what fans see on her Telegram account: her name, @username, bio and photo. In the same window, you also set the name and colour your team sees.

## Before you start

* You need an owner or admin account.
* Her Telegram account must be connected. Until it is, you can change only the **Display name** and the **Color tag**. See [Connect a managed Telegram account](/telegram/connect-a-managed-account) or [Connect her own Telegram account](/telegram/connect-her-own-account).

## Two names: one for your team, one for fans

Changing the **Display name** changes nothing for fans. Changing the **Name on Telegram** does not change the name your team sees.

## Edit her profile

    In OnlyX, click **Creators**. Then click the creator.

    Her **Overview** opens. Her profile card is at the top of the page.

  <Step title="Open the Edit profile window">
    On her profile card, click the pencil next to her name. When you point at it, it shows **Edit profile**.

    The **Edit profile** window opens.

  <Step title="Enter the name fans see">
    Under **Telegram profile**, in the **Name on Telegram** field, enter the name that fans should see.

    Leave **Display name** as it is, unless your team wants a new name for her in OnlyX.

  <Step title="Set her username">
    In the **Username on Telegram** field, enter her username without the @. It must be 5 to 32 letters, numbers or underscores, and start with a letter.

    To remove her username, leave the field empty.

  <Step title="Write her bio">
    In the **Bio** field, enter up to 70 characters. The counter next to the field shows how many you have used.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Optional: Change her photo">
    Click **Upload photo** and choose a JPG, PNG or WebP photo under 5 MB. Or click **Choose from media**, and click one of her photos.

    The new photo shows in the window. Telegram gets it when you save.

  <Step title="Save your changes">
    Click **Save changes**.

    "Profile saved" appears, and the window closes. Her profile card shows the new name after "On Telegram:", and her new @username.

<Warning>
  When you click **Save changes**, OnlyX changes her profile on Telegram. Her fans see the new name, username, bio and photo there.
</Warning>

A photo that you upload here is added to her **Media**. It is not for sale unless you add it to a level in **AI Content**.

<Note>
  The window says "up to 10 MB", but OnlyX refuses a profile photo over 5 MB when you save. Use a photo under 5 MB.

## If something goes wrong

    Her Telegram account is not connected, so the Telegram fields are greyed out. Connect her account first, or reconnect it if it was signed out. You can still change the **Display name** and the **Color tag**.

    If you see "Connect Telegram before changing its profile." when you save, her account is not connected right now. Reconnect it first.

  <Accordion title="&#x22;That photo is larger than 5 MB. Telegram shrinks a profile photo to 800x800 anyway — pick a smaller one.&#x22;">
    Choose a smaller photo, then click **Save changes** again. The photo you tried is still in her **Media**.

  <Accordion title="&#x22;Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image under 10 MB.&#x22;">
    The file is not a JPG, PNG or WebP photo, or it is too large. Choose another photo. Keep it under 5 MB.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="&#x22;This username is taken. Try another.&#x22;">
    Someone else on Telegram has this username. Enter a different one. The message "Another creator here already uses this Telegram username." means that another creator in your workspace has it.

  <Accordion title="&#x22;Use 5–32 letters, numbers or underscores, starting with a letter.&#x22;">
    The username has a character Telegram does not allow, or it is too short or too long. Use only letters, numbers and underscores, and start with a letter.

  <Accordion title="Nothing happens when I click Save changes">
    The **Name on Telegram** field is empty. Enter a name. Once a name is set, it cannot be removed.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Save changes is greyed out">
    Nothing has changed yet, the **Display name** is empty, or the username is not valid. Fix the field that shows an error.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The message starts with &#x22;Telegram asked this account for&#x22;">
    Telegram asked the account to wait before the next change. The message says how many seconds. Wait, then click **Save changes** again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The message starts with &#x22;Telegram refused that change&#x22;">
    Telegram did not accept one of the values. Its reason is in brackets. Change that value and save again.

    Telegram keeps any change it accepted before the error. To see what was saved, reload the page, then open the **Edit profile** window again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I don't see the pencil">
    Chatters and content VAs cannot edit a creator's profile. Ask an owner or admin. The pencil is also greyed out for a moment while OnlyX reads her account.
