# Send a PPV or free media from the vault

> Pick media from the creator's vault in a conversation, lock some of it behind a price, and send it to the fan as a PPV or as free media.

<Badge color="blue">Owners, admins and chatters</Badge>

Send a fan media from the creator's vault: free, or locked behind a price as a <Tooltip tip="A pay-per-view message: the fan pays to unlock it.">PPV</Tooltip>.

## Before you start

* The creator's OnlyFans account is connected, and the media is in her vault. See [The Vault: sync and browse](/onlyfans-tools/vault).
* You need an owner, admin or chatter account in OnlyX. A chatter can send only in the conversations of the creators assigned to them.
* A PPV takes a **Hugo** or **Escalated** conversation over for 12 hours, like any message you send. See [Take over a conversation and give it back](/inbox/take-over-and-resume-hugo).

## Choose the media

    In OnlyX, click **Inbox**. Then click the fan's conversation in the **Master Inbox**.

    The conversation opens.

    In the message box, click the picture button with a plus sign, at the start of the box.

    The **Attach content** window opens on **From vault**. The newest media is first.

  <Step title="Optional: Filter the vault">
    Click **Photos**, **Videos** or **GIFs** to show only that kind of media. To see older media, scroll down and click **Load more**.

  <Step title="Select the media">
    Click each item that you want to send.

    Each item that you click gets a check mark, and a count shows how many you selected, for example "2 selected".

## Build the PPV

The window has two zones next to the vault:

* **Preview**, "Free — the fan sees this": the free teaser. The fan sees it without paying.
* **Locked**, "Behind the price": what the fan gets when he pays.

    Select the teaser items in the vault. Then click **Place** in the **Preview** zone.

    The items move into **Preview**. In the vault, each placed item is marked **Preview**.

  <Step title="Place the locked media">
    Select the items to sell. Then click **Place** in the **Locked** zone.

    The items move into **Locked**, and the **Price** field turns on. To take an item out of a zone, click it.

  <Step title="Enter the price">
    In the **Price** field, enter the price in dollars, for example 15.

    The line next to the price counts your items, for example "1 free · 2 locked".

  <Step title="Attach the media">
    Click **Attach**.

    The window closes. Over the message box, a strip reads, for example, "PPV · \$15.00 · 2 locked · 1 free". Nothing is sent yet.

To send free media only, place items in **Preview** and leave **Price** empty. The strip then reads, for example, "2 free items".

## Send it

    Optional: in the message box, type the text that the fan sees before he pays. With a price, the box reads "Add a teaser… (optional)".

    Press <kbd>Enter</kbd>, or click the round arrow button.

    The PPV appears at the end of the conversation, marked "PPV · \$15 · not opened". When the fan buys it, the mark changes to "unlocked".

    <Warning>
      This message goes to the real fan. On OnlyFans, you can **Unsend** a message within 24 hours, but the fan may already have read it.

To change the media before you send, click **Edit** on the strip. To remove it, use the X at the end of the strip.

  If you open another conversation before you send, the attached media is removed. Attach it again in the right conversation.

## Read the badges on the vault

In the vault, badges show what this fan has already had. They are about this fan only, not about the creator's other fans.

| Badge | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Bought** and an amount | He paid for it. The amount is what he paid. |
| **Sent** and an amount | It was sent to him locked at that price, and he has not bought it. |
| **Sent free** | It was sent to him for free. |
| **Sent** | It was sent to him. |

Items he has had look faded, but you can still select them. To hide them, click the button that counts them, for example **Hide 7 he has had**. Click **Showing new only** to show them again.

A line over the vault says how far you can trust the badges:

* "Badges show what this fan has had.": the badges are complete.
* "Older history not read …": OnlyX has not read his older chat. An item with no badge may still be one he has.
* "Send history unavailable — tiles below are not marked.": OnlyX could not read his history, so no item has a badge.

## Limits

* Up to 20 locked items and up to 20 free items in one message.
* A price of up to \$5,000. OnlyFans also has its own price limits for each account.
* Each item only once in the same message.

OnlyX checks these when you send. If a message breaks one, you see "Message not sent", and your text and media stay in the message box.

## Telegram creators

For a Telegram creator, the window works a little differently:

* The first tab is **From media**, her media in OnlyX.
* **Upload** works: click **Choose files**. The files join her media and are selected, ready to place. For OnlyFans creators, upload to the vault instead. See [Upload to the Vault](/onlyfans-tools/upload-to-the-vault).
* With locked media, **Preview** can hold up to 3 free items, and they must be photos.
* After you send, a label on the message follows the sale. "Sent · $15" means he has not paid yet. "Paid · $15", followed by "Unlocked · $15", means he bought it. "Expired · $15" means the pay link ran out before he used it.

## If something goes wrong

    Her account is not connected, or OnlyX could not read her vault this time. If her account is connected, close the window and open it again. If the message stays, check her connection. See [Connection statuses explained](/connecting/connection-statuses).

    The line says what to fix:

    * "Pick something to attach.": place at least one item.
    * "Locked content needs a price.": enter a price.
    * "A price needs locked content to buy.": place an item in **Locked**, or delete the price.

    You hid the items he has had, and he has had every item on this page. Click **Load more** to see older items, or **Show them anyway**.

  <Accordion title="A message says &#x22;Message not sent&#x22;">
    OnlyX or OnlyFans refused the PPV. Your text and media are back in the message box. Check the limits on this page. OnlyFans may also refuse the price for this account.

    OnlyX also refuses a PPV to a fan who asked not to get sales offers. A message without a price still goes out to him.
