# Use the inbox on your phone

> Answer fans from your phone's browser: open a conversation, go back to the list, see the fan panel and find the other pages.

OnlyX works in your phone's web browser. On a small screen, the inbox shows one thing at a time: the list, one conversation, or the fan panel.

## Before you start

* Open OnlyX in your phone's browser and sign in.
* This article applies to any screen less than 1024 pixels wide. That includes most phones, and small tablets held upright.
* A chatter sees only the conversations of their assigned creators.

## Find your way around

On a phone there is no sidebar. The tab bar at the bottom of the screen takes its place.

* Owners and admins see **Dashboard**, **Inbox**, **Analytics** and **More**.
* Chatters see **Inbox** and **More**.

Tap **More** for the other pages your role can open, such as **Creators**, **Billing**, **Settings** and **Referrals**. The **More** sheet also has the **SFW** switch and your account menu.

In the list, each conversation has three dots (⋮) that are always visible. They open the same menu as on a computer.

## Open and answer a conversation

    In the tab bar, tap **Inbox**.

    The list of conversations fills the screen.

    Tap a conversation.

    The conversation slides in over the list, and the tab bar hides.

  <Step title="Check who has the conversation">
    Read the strip over the message box. For example, "Hugo owns this thread. Replying takes it over for 12 hours."

    On a narrow phone, the buttons at the top of the conversation show only icons:

    * a hand for **Claim**, or sparkles for **Resume Hugo**;
    * a power icon, which keeps Hugo out of this conversation;
    * the fan panel icon.

  <Step title="Send your message">
    Tap the message box and type your message. Then tap the round arrow button.

    Your message shows in the conversation.

    <Warning>
      This message goes to the real fan. On OnlyFans, you can **Unsend** a message within 24 hours, but the fan may already have read it.
    </Warning>

  <Step title="Go back to the list">
    Tap the arrow at the top of the conversation, or use your phone's back gesture.

    The list and the tab bar come back.

  Did you open the conversation from a link, for example on the **Dashboard**? Then the back gesture takes you back to that page. To reach the list, tap the arrow at the top of the conversation.

## See who the fan is

    In the conversation, tap the fan panel icon, the last icon at the top.

    The fan panel slides up from the bottom of the screen. It has the same two tabs as on a computer, **Overview** and **Activity**.

    Drag the handle at the top of the panel down.

    The conversation shows again.

## Act on a message

Each message has faint three dots (⋮) next to it. Tap them for the message menu: see [Copy, quote, hide, tag or unsend a message](/inbox/message-actions). On Hugo's messages, the star next to the three dots opens the "Feedback on Hugo's message" window: see [Rate Hugo's messages](/inbox/rate-hugos-messages).

## On a small tablet held sideways

On a screen from 1024 to 1279 pixels wide, the list and the conversation sit side by side. The sidebar is back. The fan panel icon opens the fan panel as a window titled **Fan**.

## If something goes wrong

    You opened the conversation from a link. Tap the arrow at the top of the conversation instead: it always goes back to the list.

  <Accordion title="&#x22;Could not open that conversation&#x22;">
    The conversation did not load, and OnlyX shows the list again. Tap the conversation again to retry.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I turned Hugo off for a fan by mistake">
    The power icon at the top of the conversation turns Hugo off for this fan at once, with no confirmation. Tap it again to turn Hugo back on. See [Keep Hugo out of one fan's conversation](/inbox/keep-hugo-out-of-a-chat).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I don't see the tab bar">
    The tab bar hides while a conversation is open. Go back to the list, and it comes back.
