# Message delivery states: did the fan get it?

> Learn what in queue, sending, never sent and not delivered mean under a message, what the fan can see, and what to do.

<Badge color="blue">Owners, admins and chatters</Badge>

A small label under a message that you or Hugo sent tells you whether the fan has it yet. A message with no label was delivered.

## The labels

| Label | What it means | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| No label | The message was delivered. | Nothing. |
| "in queue" | The message is written and waits its turn. The fan cannot see it yet. If the fan writes again first, a reply from Hugo stands down by itself. | Wait. Do not write the same thing again. |
| "sending" | The message is being delivered to OnlyFans now. This usually takes less than a minute, and can take longer when the account is busy. | Wait. |
| "never sent", with a reason | The message was stopped on purpose before it went out. The fan never saw it. Nothing is broken, so the label is grey. | Nothing, unless you want to write to the fan yourself. |
| "not delivered", in red | OnlyFans did not take the message, or never confirmed it. | Read the reason. Check the conversation before you send it again. |

"in queue" and "sending" move, like "Hugo is thinking", and the message looks a little faded until it arrives. When it arrives, the label disappears and the message flashes for a moment. Point at a label to read the full explanation.

On Telegram, a message that you send goes out at once, so it normally shows no label.

## Why a message was never sent

The reason follows "never sent". For the full sentence, point at the i button next to the label.

| Reason | What happened |
| - | - |
| "he replied first" | The fan wrote again while the answer was waiting or going out, so the rest was held. |
| "waited too long" | The message was written too long ago to still fit the conversation. |
| "the gate closed" | Sending stopped being allowed before the message went out. For example, a person took the conversation over, Hugo was turned off, or the account was disconnected. |
| "an earlier line failed" | An earlier part of the same reply failed, so this part was never tried. |
| "stopped" | Sending was stopped before the message went out. |

## When a message is not delivered

Point at the i button next to "not delivered" to read why. The reason comes from OnlyFans, for example "This fan's subscription lapsed — OnlyFans closed the chat." Without a reason, it reads "OnlyFans did not accept this message."

  If the reason is "OnlyFans never confirmed the send.", the fan may have the message anyway. Check the conversation before you send it again, so he does not get it twice.

There is no retry button. To try again, send the message yourself.

## Show the messages the fan never got

By default, the conversation hides the messages that the fan never got. These are the ones marked "never sent", and the ones that OnlyFans refused. Messages that are "in queue" or "sending" always show, and so do messages that OnlyFans never confirmed.

    In OnlyX, click **Settings**. Then click **Appearance**.

    The **Appearance** tab opens.

    In **Inbox display**, turn on **Show messages the fan never got**.

    OnlyX saves it to your account. It changes only your own view.

  <Step title="Open the conversation again">
    Click **Inbox**, then the conversation.

    The hidden messages now show with their labels. The ones that were never sent look faded. To hide them again, turn the setting off.

The fan's **Activity** tab never lists messages that were never sent, whatever this setting says.

## If something goes wrong

    OnlyFans messages go out at a human pace, and several can wait in line. So this can take longer when the account is busy. Keep waiting. If the label changes to "not delivered", read the reason behind the i button.

    It was never sent, or OnlyFans refused it, so the conversation hides it. To see it, turn on **Show messages the fan never got** in **Settings** > **Appearance**.

    None of the messages on this page reached the fan, so all of them are hidden. Click the link in the message to open **Appearance**, then turn on **Show messages the fan never got**.
