Owners and admins Learn what each billing state means, and how to keep Hugo working when your balance runs out. ## The four states The status card on the **Overview** tab always shows one of four states. ## Running low The card shows **Running low** when your **Net balance** is under $25. For example: "Hugo is selling, but only $14.80 is left". Nothing stops yet. A new workspace shows **Running low** from its first day. It starts with $10 of **Welcome credits**, which is under the $25 line. This is expected. ## The grace period The grace period starts when the daily charge takes your credits below zero. The charge runs a few minutes after midnight UTC. Before that charge, your **Net balance** can already be below zero while the card still shows **Running low**. During the grace period, Hugo keeps working, and new sales still add fees. The card shows two clocks: * **Grace period**: how many of the 7 days are left, for example "4 of 7 days left". * **Debt limit**: how much you owe, out of $500, for example "$42.30 of \$500". Hugo pauses when either clock runs out, whichever comes first. On the last day, the chip reads **Grace — 1d left**. The $500 limit has no grace. If one daily charge takes your debt to $500 or more, Hugo pauses at once. ## When Hugo is paused Hugo pauses when your debt is more than 7 days old, or when it reaches \$500. The card then says "Hugo has stopped selling", and the chip says **AI paused**. The pause is wider than the card's words. While Hugo is paused: * Hugo does not answer fans at all, for every creator in the workspace. He sends no replies, no follow-ups and no PPVs. * Messages that fans send during the pause are not queued for Hugo. * Hugo's messages that were waiting to go out are cancelled. * If a fan unlocks a PPV that Hugo sent before the pause, the fee is still added. So your debt can still grow. Your team keeps working. The inbox, your fans and your data are not affected, and your team can answer fans by hand. While Hugo is paused, fans get no answer unless your team replies by hand. ## What your team sees in the inbox In each conversation that Hugo owns, your team sees "Hugo will not answer this thread" with the reason "Billing has stopped Hugo selling". The **Open billing** button there opens **Billing**, but only for owners and admins. A chatter should answer the fan by hand and tell an owner or admin.

## Get Hugo working again In OnlyX, click **Billing**. The status card is at the top of the **Overview** tab. Read the status card. It names the amount you need. If the debt reached $500, it says how much gets you back under the limit, for example "Add at least $12.51". If the 7 days ran out, it says how much you owe, for example "Clear the \$42.30 owed". Once the debt is more than 7 days old, only paying everything you owe brings Hugo back. On the **Balance** card, click **Add credits**. Then make a deposit of at least that amount, and at least 50 USDT or USDC. Only the coins that arrive count. The steps are in [Add credits with USDT or USDC](/billing/add-credits). When the credit lands, reload the page. The status card and the chip show the new state. When Hugo comes back depends on why he paused: | Why Hugo paused | What to add | When Hugo is back | | - | - | - | | Your debt reached \$500. | More than the amount over $500. The card names the smallest amount that works, for example "Add at least $12.51" on a \$512.50 debt. The smallest deposit is 50 USDT or USDC. | Within about 5 minutes, but only if the debt is not yet more than 7 days old. You are then back in the grace period, and its 7 days still count from when the debt began. | | The 7 days ran out. | Everything you owe. A smaller payment does not bring Hugo back. | As soon as the credit lands. | | Either reason | Enough to bring your credits to \$0 or more. | As soon as the credit lands. The grace period ends too. | When Hugo is back, he may still answer fans who wrote during the pause. This works if the fan's last message is no more than 7 days old. Answer older or urgent messages yourself. ## If something goes wrong To leave the grace period, your **Credits** must reach \$0 or more. A smaller deposit only lowers what you owe, so the card stays on **Grace period**. The page does not update by itself: reload it. A deposit that shows **Confirming on-chain** does not count until it lands. After a pause at the $500 limit, Hugo comes back within about 5 minutes once you owe less than $500. Until then, the card still shows **Hugo is paused**, and it can say that the 7-day grace period ran out. Wait 5 minutes, then reload. This works only while the debt is 7 days old or less. Once the debt is older than that, you must pay everything you owe. A new workspace starts with $10 of **Welcome credits**, which is under the $25 line. Add credits when you are ready. The grace period starts only when the daily charge takes your credits below zero, a few minutes after midnight UTC. Add credits now to avoid it. If the reason is "Billing has stopped Hugo selling", Hugo is paused for billing. An owner or admin must add credits. Until then, your team answers fans by hand. ## What's next
