# Today: how today compares with yesterday

> Compare today so far with yesterday at the same time, learn what each Today number counts, and open the records behind any hour.

The **Today** report compares today so far with yesterday up to the same time. You can tell early in the day if it is going well.

## Before you start

* You need an owner or admin account.
* "Today" means today in your workspace's reporting timezone. It can differ from the clock on your computer. See [Net or gross, periods and the reporting timezone](/analytics/net-gross-and-periods).

## Open Today

You can read today's numbers in two places:

* On the **Dashboard**, the **Today** card shows a summary for all your creators.
* In **Analytics**, click **Today** in the list of reports. There you can pick creators with the **All creators** button.

The **Dashboard** card's **Open in Analytics** link opens the full report. **Today** has no period button and no **Net** or **Gross** switch.

At the top of the report, a line shows the date and when the figures were updated, for example "Sep 28 · Updated 15:00 UTC-4". The time is in the reporting timezone. Click **About these numbers** to read how the report counts.

## What each number counts

| Number | What it counts |
| - | - |
| **Earnings today** | Today's earnings in US dollars, after OnlyFans' fees. It includes money that is still pending, and leaves out refunds. |
| **New fans seen** | Fans whose first known subscription or message is today. Older history may be missing, so some of them may know the creator from before. |
| **Fan messages** | Messages that fans sent today. |
| **PPV opens** | The number of paid PPV messages that fans bought today, including payments still pending. It is a count, not an amount. Free teasers, tips and posts are not counted. |
| **Paying fans** | Fans who paid today. A fan who pays two of your creators counts twice. It does not say if it was their first payment ever. |

Click the small (i) icon next to a number to read its full definition. On the report, the (i) next to **Earnings today** also splits today's earnings into cleared, pending and unknown status.

<Note>
  **Earnings today** is always net: what reaches the creator after OnlyFans' cut. It is not the amount the creator can withdraw.

**Earnings today**, **PPV opens** and **Paying fans** come from OnlyFans' earnings records only. A Telegram creator's messages and new fans count, but her sales do not. Her sales are on her **Earnings** tab.

## Read the comparison

Each number has a small pill that compares it with yesterday up to the same time. Point at the pill to read "vs yesterday at this time".

| The pill says | It means |
| - | - |
| "+12%" or "−8%" | Up or down against yesterday at this time. |
| "±0%" | A change of less than 1%. |
| "New" | Yesterday had nothing by this time. |
| An amount, such as "+41" | The change is more than 400%, so the pill shows the difference instead of a percentage. |

When both days are at zero, there is no pill.

Each chart draws today's running total as a solid line, from midnight to now. Yesterday's running total is the dashed line. Point at the chart to read the **Today** and **Yesterday** values for any hour.

## See the records behind an hour

    A window opens, for example "Earnings details · today". It lists everything counted from midnight up to that hour.

    To close the window, press <kbd>Esc</kbd>.

For earnings, PPV opens and paying fans, the window lists each sale. It shows the creator, the fan ID, **Net USD**, **Type** and **Status**: **Cleared**, **Pending** or **Unknown**. With the keyboard, go to the chart. Move between hours with the left and right arrow keys. Press the up and down arrows to switch between today and yesterday. Press <kbd>Enter</kbd> to open the records.

## How often it updates

While the report is open in front of you, OnlyX reads new figures once a minute. A calculated copy of the figures is kept for about 90 seconds. When the **Dashboard** card shows an older copy first, it adds "updating" next to the time. The new figures usually follow within a minute.

On a day when the clocks change, the chart counts hours from midnight. Its (i) help then says how many hours each day had.

## If something goes wrong

    None of the creators in the report is an OnlyFans creator whose earnings OnlyX reads. This happens when all your creators are on Telegram, or when you picked only Telegram creators in the creator picker. **Earnings today** and **PPV opens** show a dash. **Fan messages** and **New fans seen** still count.

    The figures are missing, not zero. Pick other creators, or reload the page, to try again.

    **Earnings today** is net, after OnlyFans' cut, while OnlyFans' page often shows what fans paid. Also check the timezone: today starts at midnight in your reporting timezone. See [Why numbers differ between screens](/analytics/why-numbers-differ).

    **PPV opens** counts paid PPV purchases only. Free teasers are not counted.
